Actually the Bonneville salt flats had a Prius set a record of 130 MPH. Not bad for a 2800 pound car with 1.5 liter (93 cubic inches)and 99 lbs of batteries.I don't know what their MPG was but I'm averaging 53 MPG in my Prius in Colorado.

If you don’t mind, could you find some statistics on the Prius that set that record (a link preferably). I’d like to see whether that Prius had any modifications before I make any reply to your post.
