By contrast, GWB's long list of pardons and/or commutations?

Scooter Libby.

It’s good to see this comparison. I’m sure all the Dems. from Nancy P. to Hillary to Harry Reid will all be outraged that Bush would commute his sentence. Their outrage should be met with the facts of Clinton’s many pardons.

In fact wasn’t Clinton up all night the last few nights of his presidency getting the paperwork done for his many pardons?

Bush will never be that bad even if he went to a federal pen and let every 10th one out. Start with Cisneros and end with the PR terrorists and the dems have nothing to say. Another reason to not vote for what’s her name.

Huh? Libby still faces 2 years of probation and a $250,000 fine for not changing his story, while Tim Russert sits fat and happy after changing his story. The fact that Bush did not give a complete and unconditional pardon to Libby is additional proof that Bush is a self-serving weasel, on par with Bill Clinton.

I don’t think so.

As of March 7, 2007, President George W. Bush had issued 113 presidential pardons to people who have served their entire sentence, and has commuted in addition the sentences of three people. In this context, a pardon means an executive order vacating a conviction for which the sentence has already been served, thereby eliminating the collateral effects of the conviction, while a commutation means a mitigation of the sentence of someone currently serving a sentence for a crime pursuant to a conviction.
