They can bring it on, I have enough weapons and ammo in my house to fend off a platoon of Klintoon’s goons.

Well, if James Carville shows up all by his lonely self, you're right. If, on the other hand, they get back in the White House and give you the Waco treatment, there won't be much you can do. Somehow, I doubt you have anything that could take on a tank.

The days of citizen-only revolution (notice, I said citizen-only; this precludes funding from outside) being feasible are gone. Even if you could buy any armament you like, from RPGs to tanks and bombers, the vast majority of people would not be able to afford it.

Think of it this way: Bill Gates is one of the richest men in the world. The estimate I found for his wealth (http://philip.greenspun.com/WealthClock) estimated that that he is worth $70.5 billion. The United States DoD gave their total Federally-allocated budget at $439.3 billion (http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Feb2006/d20060206slides.pdf, slide 19). And most of Bill G's assets are not cold cash--they are vested in Microsoft stock (so, pragmatically, he couldn't cash in all his chips today and get $70.5 billion).
