You guys are so quick to force farmers to buy these machines to pick their crops. Typical Central Planning mentality when you can have workers do it more efficiently. You really think farmers wouldn’t really rather have machines if it was economically feasible? Let the market decide. Its called capitalism, something Conservatives valued.
In the end your machines idea is a panacea. You drive around and see hundreds of Mexican workers and you pretend you can just snap your fingers and replace them with thousands of machines to run the carwashes, mow and plant the lawns and plant and pick the crops.
Fact is this is another lame attempt to answer the question where you going to get the workers elsewhere.

We already have laws on the books that allow temporary guest workers for agricultural work. The Senate bill does not change current law in that regard. As far as taking care of the lawn, washing the car, doing the dishes, etc., most of us are capable of doing that ourselves.
