I think any numbers McCain is getting in these polls are from people that do NOT keep up with politics & his is the only name they've heard of - plus they know he was a POW. It will be very different in a voting booth with only people that actually participate in the process.

My gut says to me that Thompson will get more of McCain's supporters when he backs out of the race, but it depends when/what time in the primaries and who he endorses.

The AP includes AlGore in the poll to suck away support from Osama Obama and Silky Pony Edwards in order to make Rodham the leader.
