I've been on FR for years. Conservatives have very short term memories, and that explains why people who vote liberal but talk a good game get worshipped on this forum, whereas people who have a solid voting record but sound like fools on TV get trashed on this forum.

Notice all the worship heaped on Fred Thompson & Zell Miller, AFTER freepers vowed to "never again" support ANYONE in the primary who voted for McCain-Feingold. I hear this "never again" stuff all the time.

Looks like you've been on FR for years as well, so you know people here have bitched constantly about John McCain since 2000. The way they talk about him here, you would think he's the devil incarnate. AZ is far more conservative than NYC, wouldn't you agree? Perhaps you can name the "conservatiev primary challenger" who took on McCain in 2004. (Hint: There wasn't one)

We DID come extremely close to taking out Lincoln Chafee and Arlen Specter in the primary, but those guys voted with the enemy ALL the time instead of being wrong on one piece of legislation that your "conservatives with a loooooooong memory" focused on. If you focus all your time and resources going after people who are constantly voting the wrong way, you have a good chance at defeating them in the primary. If you waste time hurling banana peels at people who agree with you 90% of the time but voted the "wrong" way on some piece of legislation a year ago, you will get no where.

You heard it here first.

We have to focus on defeating those who vote the wrong on a consistent basis. After we defeat them, we can focus on defeating those who vote the wrong way sometimes. The priority has to be on those who are always, or almost always, Liberals.

Graham or any other politician could vote my way 99.9% of the time but if he or she supports amnesty I want them out. The issue is that important though you don't apparently seem to think so.
