Too bad Intrepid couldn't have made it back for Fleet Week.

When Intrepid was a museum ship in NYC, my father and a bunch of old vets were invited to volunteer as 'crew' aboard doing small tasks and entertaining tourists with sea stories. NYC had numerous volunteers and a Big Attraction.

May she always have three fathoms beneath her keel.

It would have been fun to listen to the old stories.

The old salts likely had fun telling the sea stories too ?
