Come on - we pay for their livlihood now in many ways - unseen ways. Mandated by the gov’ment ways. Healthcare being the foremost. We pay for their babies being born, emergencies to ER, food stamps.

Unfortunately most Americans don't think "we" pay for this .. they think the government pays for it

Though if the states had to pay for this .. most Americans would take notice .. especially when they had to pay their state and real estate taxes

As for the businesses .. they will just import food from other countries because it's cheaper

People don't go into a business to be fair .. they go into a business to make money

Some of these people are not only poor and needy, but perverts as well. They are hiding in plain sight.

I agree it's a huge mess and it's also dangerous

Okay here's why we should have the government pay for groceries:
  1. US Constitution, Artcile I, Section 8: "The Congress shall have power ... To establish post offices and post roads;"
  2. In order to have people able to build post offices, post roads and to write letters to one another so as to use the post roads and post offices, and in order to have people capable of running the offices and delivering via the roads, those people need to eat.
  3. Therefore and obviously following: The Federal Government is empowered and authorized to provide food stuff, food preparation, food delivery and food trash hauling, along with suitable sets of of china, dining room furniture and silverware -- not to mention food serving staff to all citizens capable of either writing letters, receieving them (letters made be read to the illiterate by government supplied readers), or handling them; and to provide semi-colons and other punctuation accessories; and generally to provide supplies of groceries of good quality to all.
QED.

The Expansionary Postal Clause.

'People don't go into a business to be fair .. they go into a business to make money'

That is one of the big differences between conservatives and libs. Libs DO NOT agree with this.
