If we can fight terrorists from a dozen or so countries in Iraq we can handle 20 million illegals in our own country. It just takes resolve thats all. I have not seen the details of the illegal alien bill, or the status of our holdings on Cuba. Is there any chance that this legislation would make the Guantanamo detainees eligible for a Z-card?

That is, unless they can get their feet on American soil. Then all bets are off since you can apply for a z visa using any name you want. You do not have to prove who you are.

I notice that Bill Kristol, this morning, and Fred Barnes, yesterday, both of the Weekly Standard are drawing back from supporting this immigration bill. Suddenly they think it is too complex and the danger of conferring legal residency on gang members and terrorists almost immediately upon the presidents signature.
This Bush-McCain-Kennedy Bill is going down.
