Press Release

Paul Campaign:  Giuliani's Immigration Record Out of Touch with America

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - June 1, 2007

ARLINGTON, VA - Rudy Giuliani’s record on illegal immigration is out of step with the majority of Americans. As mayor of New York, Mr. Giuliani filed a lawsuit to prevent city officials from arresting illegal immigrants. He also denounced a law that prohibited welfare benefits, Social Security and free tax-payer funded medical care for non-citizens, and lobbied the U.S. Congress to change it.

“On illegal immigration, Rudy Giuliani is more like Ted Kennedy than Main Street America,” said Ron Paul 2008 campaign chairman Kent Snyder.

In contrast, Congressman Ron Paul has long taken the lead against illegal immigration. He voted for a border fence between the U.S. and Mexico and strongly opposes amnesty. Congressman Paul has introduced legislation to end birthright citizenship. He has also sponsored legislation to bar individuals from countries on the U.S. terror watch list from receiving student visas, since several of the 9/11 terrorists were here on expired student visas.

“When you compare Rudy Giuliani’s immigration record as a mayor to Congressman Ron Paul’s record as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for 10 terms, the difference is clear,” continued Snyder.

You know, I have never seen Ron Paul and Ward Churchill in the same room.

Coincidence? I think not.

These L Ron Paul posts are approaching spam levels.

Actually, it's the Paul-haters who are spamming.

RP is taking out after Giuliani, the most liberal in the race and someone who has challenged him personally.

And, yet, the same suspects show up on every one of these threads within ten seconds of them being posted to complain about them. And yet, the Paul-haters are the most prolific posters on these threads.

Normally, when we see hundreds of posts on a topic, that means people want more on that topic or candidate.

Even if you don't like Paul, why not a few comments on whether he'll be able to take on the Rudester on making NYC a sanctuary city, suing the feds, etc. This is red meat for the base and RP is hitting these themes.

Exactly. Where are these shining hero candidates willing to oppose this amnesty in absolute terms and who have done so for years?

It's Paul, Tancredo, and Hunter. And once Tancredo and Hunter drop out, only Paul and Fred will be sounding the anti-amnesty theme in the campaign.

why not a few comments on whether he'll be able to take on...

L Ron Paul has 0.00000001 poll recognition. I'm not going to give his supporters an organism by opining on a press release of his and giving him more than 15 seconds of fame.

L Ron Paul has 0.00000001 poll recognition.

Actually, he probably leads the second-tier candidates in polling, name recognition and fundraising. Still a very long shot but a lot more than your estimate of one millionth of 1 percent.

Paul leads most or all candidates or he is obtaining significant percentages in many polls, including here. I do not know where Paul could or would get 0.00000001 % because there would need to be 100,000,000 participants in order to get that fraction.

This has been another left-wing-style smear debunked, with gratitude to hosting provided by FreeRepublic.com.
