One of the worst consequences of illegal immigration is the crime some immigrants perpetrate. Illegal alien gang members commit violence across the country -- even in places like Boise and Omaha. They seep into the country, creating cross-state connections rooted in nearly unbreakable, blood-bathed bonds. The statistics show that its a huge problem in California and several southwestern states. Now, Congress and President Bush are preparing to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants without providing adequate safeguards against that amnesty being granted to gang-bangers such as MS-13 members.

For starters, I'm not apologizing for the President. I think he is correct in his positions.
You must be talking about the Z visa....it identifies them, puts them on the tax rolls but doesn't give them citizenship. What is the problem with that? They are here already, and there is no hope of sending them all back.
The temporary worker program has nothing to do with amnesty, it is for people that are not here. The come in for a limited time and leave, with no path to citizenship. That is the same thing he has always wanted.

Who says they can’t be rounded up or deported, and what is their specific reason for making this claim?
::::
This is the position of “our government”. This is a major cop-out to having to do anything seriously material about the imported Mexican crime and criminals. Washington is truly selling the integrity and soverignty of America down the toilet...malfeasance beyond belief.
Your point? I don’t see any bills before the Senate that grant citizenship to members of the Yakuza here illegally.
Replace ‘conservatives’ with ‘Americans’. This is an issue that easily crosses party lines in my opinion. Even the most liberal of my coworkers are furious over this.
...it identifies them...
It uses whatever identity they choose to give. There is no biometric information. The Z-Visas purpose is not to identify them for security purposes, but to rid the illegals of their illegal status.
...puts them on the tax rolls...
Its purpose is to not gain revenue, but to make them legal. They will be eventually eligible for welfare handouts that will greatly exceed what little revenue to be extracted from this population of high school dropouts.
... but doesn't give them citizenship.
They will be on the path to citizenship within the bill, and with their legal status affirmed, the Dems will strive to give them citizenship and the franchise through further legislation or President Clinton's Executive Orders.
What is the problem with that?
We can identify specific and horrendous problems all day long, and the advocates of the bill will continue to respond with "So what?" It is because the GOP advocates are profiting privately from the illegals, and arguments mean nothing in comparison to private income.
L
Amnesty? I’d rather see them declare open season.
Any time.
That is horrific!!
The whole Illegal immigration issue is such a bipartisan PC Nightmare. Gangbangers, Drug Dealers, whatever no one in this Govt. can or cares do deal with it.
What I love is that once these Invaders become legal (They will) after zapping all social services monies they can then take full advantage of the lovely Affirmative Action status they will have. They cant lose -

gang-bangers for Bush bump
/sarc BUMP!
I have been emailing and calling DC and expressing the same comments that you’ve posted. It’s time to “CLEAN HOUSE.” Clean it down to empty chairs. Send all of the elitist power-grabbing human debris packing; send them all back to the real world where they won’t be able to consider themselves “royalty” except on their own personal “throne” that flushes.
The gang support is part of the plan to un-create the world’s only Christian nation.
