A Tale of Three Networks on memorial Day
Fox, CNN, MSNBC | 5/27/07 | Vanity

Posted on 05/28/2007 8:42:55 AM PDT by pabianice

It's Memorial Day and a look at three networks tells volumes.

Fox News is covering President Bush's speech at the Tomb of the Unknowns. Apparently, no other networks have time for Memorial Day. CNN is breathlessly covering The Lindsey Lohan (sp?) Crisis, while MSNBC is covering the high price of gasoline by getting people to blame George Bush on camera.

Meanwhile, Boston Globe coverage of just discovered Al-Qaeda torture manual here

Meanwhile, on the Internet...uver-search engine Google observed the day with a stirring graphical tribute on their home page....

Oh, wait...that must be in a parallel universe where their version of Google is patriotic and observant of things like Memorial Day and Christmas...

... I guess people like the “fair and balanced” approach to news broadcasts more than they like the “let’s find somebody to blame” crowd ...

The MSM are not us. They live in a different country. It’s kind of a Canadian version of the US. Political Correctness rules, religion is skoffed at, and the military are seen as John Kerry pointed out, as a bunch of kids who didn’t study in high school.

Sometimes I tune in NPR on my car radio to just get a taste of their world view. It is condescending, conceited, and over-bearing. These people know TRUTH and if we’d just shut up and listen to them the world would be perfect.

If you email Google and complain, you get a letter that looks like they are taking your complaint seriously. But if you complain often enough, you see the letters are all identical with the name of the holiday changed.

Wait until you see Google’s stunning visual tribute to July 4th. I predict a watermelon and corn-dog theme.

Everybody knows that there in no threat of terrorism in the USA. 911 was more doing of George Bush than anything else. The fact that the nation has has not been attacked since proves that there is no need for a war on terrorism.

That precisely why we have no time for any of MSM nitworks in our household.

We pull in numerous channels via. Dish. We have programmed all of the non-Fox news stations out of the lineup including Chicken Noodle News and PMSNBC. As far as the alphabet boys at ABCBSNBCPBS are concerned, we refuse to pay the $5 per month or so fee that it takes to pull in the local tee-vee franchises.

I believe I last watched an MSM newscast sometime in the late 70's. I don't ever recall sitting through a single CNN or NBC cable broadcast. I am still waiting for somebody to show me something of value that I missed (besides Perkie, of course).

We don’t need the networks to know what Memorial Day is all about. There is plenty of other coverage all over the country and on Free Republic. Thank God Americans don’t have to depend on the networks. As I said earlier on another post: “Some people have no soul and never will.” It’s OK...we remember and that’s the important thing.

Google has always been number one with me. I would not use another search engine. It must be nice to be great!

Don’t worry - if it was a Wiccan holiday or a Big Day on the Envirofundie calendar, Google would be all over it like a cheap suit.

Check out Dogpile, which has a very tasteful page with a link to email the troops.

I use Dogpile (http://www.dogpile.com/) They have a nice picture of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with three dogs bowing their heads. It’s a nice black velvet sort of thing.
