I was doing the premium foods for my 3 dogs. I even did the Royal Canin made especially for Bulldogs. They advertised it would help with gas problems. For me, Iams was the cheapest food I would feed, and I felt guilty about it. After the recall I bought some Ol’Roy, the dry/gravy kind and they attack it like it’s doggie crack or something. I have had dogs my whole life and I’ve never had a dog eat food like they are doing now. They eat it like the dogs on tv commercials. My pug hops around like a dang circus dog, the mixed breed I keep on the deck until the food is out, and the Bulldog must save his energy all day to race to the food bowl, plus his gas problems are better. When we were kids, we all fed the dogs Alpo or whatever was on sale and they all lived to be 18 or more, and they all had their teeth, I can promise you my mom wasn’t brushing any dogs teeth.
