Mary Cheney Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Mary Cheney gave birth today to perhaps the most anticipated baby in contemporary U.S. politics -- her first child, Samuel David Cheney, whom she will raise with her longtime partner Heather Poe.
The 8-pound, 6-ounce boy is the sixth grandchild for Dick Cheney.

I agree with half of that- it is absolutely wrong to call for Cheney to disown his daughter and new grandchild. If anything, they will need him and his love more than ever. I don't think it is wrong to question the wisdom of having a baby without a father. I think that this child will always have a part of him missing, and I don't believe that is ideal.

Oh, I know of plenty of heterosexual women who irrationally hate men. Unfortunately, they sometimes come to this conclusion from abuse or violence which has been directed towards them, making it difficult to convince them otherwise.

Just thought the overabundance of pictures of the child with Grandmother and Grandfather were a tad overdone to compensate for the obvious issues this fatherless child represents.

I don’t think any way a baby enters our world is sad. It’s a joyous occasion.
They don’t seem to be ashamed at all. I just think some things are none of our business.
Try it sometime. When you feel compelled to ask a very personal question of someone - stop yourself and say, “is this really any of my business”.

I don’t think that makes them special nor do I believe they even want all this publicity. Perhaps on the question of does this make them special you should direct that question to the media who are the ones so interested in it all.
