Correct...Until they're secured, no plan is going to work.
You've got that right! :-)
Read again what he said:
Imprisoning known and apprehended lawbreakers for the crime of illegally entering this country, in addition to whatever other punishment they receive for other laws that they have broken -- and then sending them back where they came from after their sentences have been served
He's talking about those already being jailed. Those we already pay for. Jail them longer for illegally entering the country and then kick them out.
If they know they'll get a longer sentence and get deported, they'll be less likely to come in the first place. Crack down on employers as well, but punish the lawbreakers, more.
It would shrink the problem anyway. We’d still have to get rid of the ones who came here not to work but to steal and murder, but at least it would be more managable.
What happened to the wall we’re supposed to build? That would work for at least some of the bad guys.
So very true. That, combined with not providing ANY social services to illegals will take care of most of the problem. They will go home voluntarily. Any employer who knowingly hires an illegal immigrant should be harshly punished. We hear big business complaining of labor shortages, but that is bogus. They are afraid they may have to pay a little more than minimum wage to get people to work for them, and they want to import slaves to keep wages down.
Crack down on employers.
Sounds like the liberal answer to gun crimes.
“We can’t punish the law breakers, there are too many of them,
so we’ll CREATE some lawbreakers we CAN punish.
Oh sure, makes lots of sense to me.
Round them up and send them back, the border should not be a revolving door.
“In a more enlightened age, tar would be getting heated in buckets, and the stockpiling of chicken feathers would make the news.”
May I please borrow that as my new tagline?
I don’t think he’s talking about jailing 12 to 20 million.
you are correct...some didn’t seem to read or “get’ what he was saying.
If they come up with an identification sytem that’s reliable like they’ve said they would, they can crack down on the employers that are already law breakers and there’s a lot of them out there.
1. Unforgeable encrypted picture id with social security number on it. The numbers and photo will be both visible and encrypted.
2. Data base accessible on the Internet for employers to consult before hiring anyone.
3. Fines of 1000 dollars a day for each illegal caught working for you.
4. If there are no jobs the illegal will go home.
The costs of construction and agriculture will go up. The free market will pay enough money so that Americans will take the jobs. I would much rather my food costs and housing costs go up than to lose my country.
Thomas Sowell BUMP
This is exactly right! When most of us talk about sending them back, this is how we mean to do it. Well, said by Thomas Sowell.
The law enforcement’s hands are as tied in reporting illegal aliens as the Congress and the “rules of engagement” tie the hands of our troops in the middle East. And for the same reason - to defeat us there and to defeat our Republic here.
WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! WRITE! TILL YOU RUN OUT OF INK IN YOUR PEN!
Bombard the Democrats as well, especially the ones that ran on an anti immigration plank and the ones in marginal districts who could be vulnerable. keep pounding on them.
Actually, I think Dr. Sowell stated that officers of the law were told not to report illegal aliens.
Thanks for your post and links, Cacique. That is an excellent piece you wrote.
This bill was discussed with a panel of four on the Larry King show tonight. Rep. Duncan Hunter was on the panel, with another California Congressman.
Get a group of your neighbors and go visit your congressman in person.
If he isn’t home from washington today, he will be for the holiday.
Nothing like face time to get your point across.
In fact, the more neighbors you bring, the better your chances are of being heard.
