Did You See This from Mike Chertoff on Friday?
National Review ^ | May 21 | Kathryn Jean Lopez

Posted on 05/21/2007 6:55:22 PM PDT by PghBaldy

MICHAEL CHERTOFF, HOMELAND SECURITY SECRETARY: You know, Wolf, first, I understand there's *** some people who expect anything other than capital punishment is an amnesty. *** The reality is the proposal here requires people who came in illegally who want to stay to pay a penalty. Like a fine. That's a punishment. That's not an amnesty.

Roughly 40 percent of illegals end up Republican. I think that is about to go down and not up.

Reading the Koran is the trick. Most of them are illiterate and have no prospects of reading anything. Letting them orally kick it around into the stupid deranged versions of Al Qaeda is endangering everyone.

Hamas’ view is distinctly worse than Fatah’s. We have to support a spiral away from blind stupid hatred. Mickey Mouse need not be broadcast by Hamas.

Bush never promised this world you are imagining. He was exactly this way in Texas on every issue you are all carping about.

Why did you and your pals elect pat Buchannan or someone like him in 2000.

Bush has compromised on immigration— you have not. Bush has given you something on immigration. Its not what you want so, bash him.

It is completley counter productive.

“Roughly 40 percent of illegals end up Republican. I think that is about to go down and not up.”

False.

“Letting them orally kick it around into the stupid deranged versions of Al Qaeda is endangering everyone.”

That is the Koran. It’s the same “version”.

“Hamas’ view is distinctly worse than Fatah’s. “

Not it isn’t.

“He was exactly this way in Texas on every issue you are all carping about.”

So, he was a big-government liberal all along. Thought so.

“Bush has compromised on immigration— you have not. Bush has given you something on immigration. Its not what you want so, bash him.”

Bush has not. He COULD have enforced the existing law. In reality, he dropped enforcement an order of magnitude from Clinton’s pitiful level.

You forget, sonny, that Bush is our employee. Not the other way around.

Oh, and his support of the “LOST” treaty is also insane.

There the only people I've ever heard mention it seriously, which they do only to obfuscate and confuse the issue. It's only a short step from "We can't Deport Everyone" to "We can't Deport Anyone." Not sure on the logic, but that's the MO so far

Jon Kyl has been going around saying exactly this all day.

I don't know what kind of conservative he is, but he is an insult to my intelligence, and the intelligence of every American who knows damn well there are workable solutions between amnesty/surrender and "mass deportations." The only thing lacking is political will.

I guess we will have a month or so to find out if there is any shred of integrity left in Washington. So far it isn't looking real good.

“Yeah, it cuts right though Anti american garbarge.”

Are you suggesting that Americans during wartime, who want & demand secure boarders & ports for obvious reasons are anti-American? Or just the ones who dare speak up against a shady back-door Bill supported by Pres. Bush , Sen. Kennedy , Sen. McCain , and la raza (who had veto power)? Were Americans who disagreed against Pres. Clinton anti-American too?

All through history until these last 230 and some years - the rich elites have ruled over the peasant masses. The United States of America upset that cushy plan for them with that thing called "Freedom" & they want their elite class back.

Very perceptive observation. As I have characterized this in other threads:

The "New World Order" is nothing more than the "Old World Order" reasserting itself.

I think demonizing this President is anti american garbage.

That happens all too often on illegal immigration threads.

Probably because his plan to import 100 million Democrats is “anti american garbage”. Regardless, he demonized us first.

Sexist.

Xenophobe.

Vigilante.

Restrictionist.

Those were/are just some of the names the WH calls conservatives.

No, I don’t want any illegals in the country period. As for student visas, fine, which is what you were talking about. Screened and vetted student visas.

That position assumes (and requires) they are only students and that the vetting process works. Given the fact that they are disseminating hate propaganda within US borders, I'm not willing to take that chance. And given the fact that his foremost responsibility is to protect American citizens, george bush shouldn't be willing to take that chance either.

I am as anti-illegal immgrant as they come. Hence, one reason I support Hunter.

Then you are confused. I know Hunter well, he is my congressman, my neighbor and my friend. He vehemently opposes the bush/mccain/kennedy liberal immigration policy, and rightly so. You’re a walking contradiction.

But what I am not, is a GWB hater, despite a few serious flaws. He is the CIC. He needs America’s support to finish the mission in Iraq, Afghanistan, and soon Iran.

I don't hate bush. I hate his very liberal immigration policy. And not suporting him on this fatally-flawed legislation, legislation that ted kennedy just loves, does not mean I don't support him on the WOT. I do. But any right-minded conservative, Hunter included, disagrees with bush on this and is willing to speak out against it. Would you condemn Hunter for doing so?

In this endeavor he has not stronger supporter than me OR Duncan Hunter.

That has nothing to do with his leaving the back door open or streamlining immigration to those who hate us. So your point it moot.

Wow!

You’re good.

I like the warrants behind False

and “No it isnt”

Look its going to be okay for you and your friends. Some Ross Perot fool is going to come along and lead you with the Pied Piper tunes you want to hear.

Bush was the consequence of rational thought and yes yes the lesser of evils inherent in political choices.

You are destroying the conservative base. I actually do think there is a chance that this is your explicit purpose.

Why can no one explain to me why Pat Buchannan is not winning in a landslide every election he stands up for?

Dude you have no idea. I’m for deporting every last illegal, and I don’t give a rip how long they have been here. And getting rid of the anchor baby bullshit, and building an inpenetrable border fence. Hunter and I are on the exact same page.

What I’m saying to you that disagreeing vehemently with Bush on this issue does NOT mean I am willing to undermine him as CIC.....And neither is Hunter. Why don’t you ask him. He has watched Bush’s back in the WOT like few others.

>> Apparently, Condi bought the Arafat “speak peace in English and death in Arabic” tactic from the current guy just like Albright did.<<

Remember the “Condi for President” idiocy from a couple of years ago? We don’t hear much of that any more.

I presented as much evidence as you have.

“Bush was the consequence of rational thought and yes yes the lesser of evils inherent in political choices.”

A calculation we’re tired of doing. Lessor evil is still evil.

“You are destroying the conservative base. I actually do think there is a chance that this is your explicit purpose.”

George W. Bush and the RNC is destroying the conservative base.

“Why can no one explain to me why Pat Buchannan is not winning in a landslide every election he stands up for?”

The same media that ignores men like Duncan Hunter.
