California Senator Carole Migden this morning rear-ended a vehicle sending its passenger to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to the California Highway Patrol.
KTVU-TV reporter Rob Roth is reporting a witness said Migden did not appear “to be all there” and screamed, “I’m a Senator.”
The senator rear-ended a 2005 Honda sedan, which was slowing to a stop behind a van that had already stopped at a red signal light at the intersection of Beck Avenue and Highway 12 in Solano County, according to a CHP spokesman.
She was given a breathalyzer test which showed Migden was not under the influence of alcohol and no citation was issued.
Migden’s office released a statement indicating, “While driving to the meeting, Senator Migden’s cell phone rang and in reaching for the phone she took her eyes off the road. She was not injured, and later passed a routine breathalyzer test and then she drove her car home. Senator Migden is very grateful that no one was seriously injured.”
So it’s the cell phone’s fault.
Who or what is issued a license to drive?
A person?
Or a cell phone?

How ironic that she supported legislation to ban cell phone use while driving.
I’m glad there are no serious injuries. But the irony about this is too much to let it pass. She’s so self-important that she just had to take that call on a cell phone while driving. And an accident resulted.
A little humility goes a long way, in my opinion. Hope she become a bit more humble since we see she is a mere mortal like the rest of us.

Thankfully, no one was seriously injured.
One would hope that this discredits her public career. But I’m not holding my breath.

To JDM: Don’t you understand the style sheet of journalism at all? If anything bad happens it is either the SUV’s fault, the gun’s fault, violent videogames, violent music, violent movies, the cell phone’s fault, global warming’s fault, or Bush’s fault(whatever the Nanny Statist’s want to ban, I am sure that the rush to ban fatty foods was because they believed, in all sincerity, that the Twinkie defense was true).
Now run along and take a Columbia J-school class, everyone else can teach you how to behave like a good little Democrat. Afterall, it wasn’t the Radical Muslim’s fault for 9/11, it was the plane’s(Sarc.) or at least to some of those people we deserved it or it was the government’s fault.

First SUVs caused all the problems...... now we have an SUV’s cell phone causing the problem...... I suppose this dipstick of a Demagogue doesn’t bear any responsibility for almost killing someone (victim was luck to get off so lightly).
p.s. I was rear-ended at a stoplight just a few weeks ago by a dipstick with a cellphone...... fortunately escaped without injury, but I sure am running out of patience for imbeciles who recklessly endanger others!!!
