And who ran against KBH in the the primary last year???She is by far the popular office holder in Texas today. She won with 67% of the vote, while our republican governor barely tallied 1/2 of that.It is no surprise she is supporting this legislation. Most people I have talked are generally in support of it. All voted for KBH last year.

'I believe that granting citizenship or lawful permanent residence status to those who entered our country illegally would only encourage others to break our laws in the future. For these reasons, I opposed amnesty provisions set forth in the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006. I voted against S. 2611 because I believe that any legislation addressing immigration must first address the safety and security needs of the United States. In a world where terrorists continue to seek to harm Americans, we must protect our citizens. We have every right to know who is in our country, who has crossed our borders, and the purpose and the length of the visit. We are negligent if we do not know these things.'

This is part of the e-mail I got from her office this week.

In the fall election I voted a straight Republican ticket with the exception on KBH.

I always vote in the primaries and I do not remember whether there was anyone running against KBH. KBH as I understand it, has a very strong base of support in Dallas and Austin. These areas of Texas are not the centers of Conservatism in Texas, Houston is the center of Conservatism in Texas. Why we cannot get a sufficient number of people to turn out and vote for a decent Mayor always amazes me.

The KSEV radio guys talk the talk but sometimes they do not walk the walk. KBH is a point in fact. The KSEV comments I remember during the primaries, never badmouthed GBH while they tore the Texas Governor and Lieutenant Governor a new one. The good news is the Dan Patrick won his Texas Senate seat during the primary with a very large margin. And to his credit Dan also strongly favors taking out RINO’s during the primaries.
