The U.S. is undergoing a seismic demographic change that will kick in over the next decade or so. In California, for example, there were 9.7 million baby boomers between the ages of 40 and 49 in 2005, who accounted for 51% of the prime working-age population. By 2020, they will be 55 to 74 years old, with most boomers on the brink of retirement or about to plunge into it.

So, in 15 years the youngest will age 15 years, but the oldest will go from 49 to 74, aging 25 years. Stinks to be them.

The WSJ is all wet. The drain on Government expenditures by tens of millions (if not more) uneducated Latinos will guarantee that SS and Medicare will be cut back. They will hardly be queueing up for well paying jobs of the future. Also, past immigrant groups assimilated cause they were far away from their homeland—not next door. Wait till they start passing laws to reclaim “stolen” land in all the border states. Not only will the Boomers lose their retirement, they will lose their country as well!
