Howard Dean told Kansas Gov. Sebelius to Lie
Quinn & Rose Show ^ | 05/10/07 | Coffee260

Dear Freepers,

Get a load of this:

I was listening to the Quinn & Rose show this morning on XM radio when Host, Jim Quinn told his audience that Howard Dean called Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius early, around 5 am, one morning after the tornado had destroyed the town of Greensburg, Kansas and discussed with her what to say about the tornado and how to blame the war in Iraq and the Bush administration on a slow response to the aftermath.

He also said that she, Gov. Sebelius, called Senator Sam Brownback's office only to learn he wasn't there but then called him on his cell phone and reached him while he was in his car were she confessed to him that she had been instructed by her party leadership, (more specifically, Howard Dean) on how to politicize the tornado's destruction of Greensburg and attack the White House and the Iraq war for a seemingly slow response. She reassured the Senator that her allegations didn't blame him or Pat Roberts, also a Kansas Senator, for the lack of immediate response.

That would explain her public statements to the press that proved later to be untrue. She made statements to the effect that the Iraq war and the deployment of the national guard units to Iraq from her state has left Kansas without the equipment and man power needed to respond more quickly to the tornado's aftermath. This all turns out to be false and the governor herself has back tracked on her own claims.

Mr. Quinn also revealed that she confessed to Brownback that she couldn't pass up such an opportunity like this to attack the President whose approval ratings, in this hostile political climate, is so low.

These revelations are startling and if true should call into question the governors competence and her judgment. Quinn adamantly stressed that his source, who he didn't name because he was sure it would jeopardize his job, was extremely reliable and in a position that would give him direct knowledge of these revelations.

I believe the story because I am from Kansas. Sebelius is just another dutiful democrat, snapping to attention. So, BUMP to the top and keep is up all day.

“If this is true, the Republicans better a) call for an investigation, b) subponea the DNC’s and the Gov’s records, and c) expose this immediately.”

They may “call for an investigation” but without a majority, they cannot force one, or chair one.

One of the brilliant gifts from voters that think “punishing Republicans” for their imperfections is a smart way to go.

Quinn & Rose are talking about this subject and absolutely stands by their story. They are also calling out the DNC for the C&D order. You can listen at: FM 104.7 in Pittsburgh,PA. and XM radio channel 165.

Yesterday, the Chicago Trib continued the Sebelius lie.

” Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius was direct in her explanation for why the response had not been faster:
The policies of the federal government, she said, had left the Kansas National Guard understaffed and underequipped.”

http://www.accesskansas.org/ksadjutantgeneral/ has a link to many photos from Greensburg.
They red caps are Air Force, not too many pictures yet of the Army. The Army is there is greater numbers, so when those pictures come on line-Sebelius will be further exposed.
But, it’s pretty obvious that they are plenty of people in uniform working. With plenty of equipment.
There are about 500 members of the military there now-there are about 8oo members of the KS National Guard deployed ,
which leaves Sebelius with a couple of thousand National Guard soldiers available to her in Kansas.

” Her comments infuriated the Bush administration, which countered that the vast majority of her state’s Guard members were available to be called up and that she would be provided any equipment she lacked as soon as she requested it.”

It seems that Tony Snow is obliquely exposing Sebelius-in the beginning, all she asked for was FM radios.
The soldiers and equipment were readily available to Sebelius- she refused to call them up.
That’s the true scandal , whether or not Dean told her to stall or she confessed to Brownback.
Which is probably why the DNC is trying to silence her critics.
