Reagan was a big tent tolerant republican. There was very little of the social issues when he ran, as I remember.

Rubbish. It was Reagan who brought the socons into the that tent with his stances on the issues. Many were Democrats, such as Bill Bennett. No pandering to homos, no pandering to abortionists, no padering to feminists, no pandering to gun control advocates, no pandering to atheists. Wanted prayer returned to the classroom, as a matter of fact.

Pro-abort Republicans have as little place in the party today as pro-slavery Republicans in the 1860s. Both are disgusting abominations.

You remember incorrectly.

"We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldn't make any sense at all."
