In fairness to mormonism, I don't think its doctrine states that mormons will be equal to God, but that they will be rewarded for their mormon practice, marriage in temple, good works, etc. with becoming gods in their own right, creating life, populating and ruling over their own planetary dominions and so on.
I don't think mormon doctrine claims equality with God. From what I can gather so far, it appears they conceive of God as continually evolving in his power and perfection, so that he will always be ahead of them. Or something to that effect.
Again, any correction on this is welcomed and appreciated.
And I would agree with you that anybody who thinks he's going to become a god at any stage of his existence, is not somebody I want in charge of my country or me.

Maybe they don't think it's any of your business and not relevant to the subject under discussion. Maybe they resent your schoolyard dare to discuss their personal information with you, along with your suggestion that if they don't, they must be ashamed of it. Maybe they have zero interest in your personal information and couldn't care less what you choose or don't choose to share about your own church affliation, club memberships, hobbies, etc.
Like I said, I could be wrong. I'm just guessing.

What they actually think is quite murky, because some of their president/prophets thought Adam was a God and there was a separate triumverate at creation, separate from the normal trinity. And since the big God Fella is himself evolved from something lesser and has his many wives near Kolob, it looks to me like some bubbling multiverse where you don’t know what is going on.
But that’s my problem from experience with Mormons in power, they can jump track and believe they are numero uno on this planet.
He's only repeating the answers God gives him when he relays your question to him.
You see, FC, you gotta understand -- everything a mormon tells you, they got directly from God through prayer. Anyway, that's what they tell me. So why should they bother to look in the Bible, when they can just pick up their spiritual telephone and give him a call?
They pray for the answer and it always comes to them. It's just coincidence that it always tells them mormonism is right and all Christian denominations are wrong, that Joseph Smith is the only true prophet and all others are wrong.
Huh? Whose got time for sports? With a house full of children and a small business to run I barely have time to read FR. Any way the only time I can “connect” with my oldest son is online playing World of Warcraft(WoW). Then we have a common topic for discussion later. Little ones are in bed so off to WoW.

That’s part of the joke Saundra, you don’t get to be a God, just male Temple Mormon priests like Mitt. Then they get their planets and have multiple spirit wives, that’s what celestial marriage is all about.
Of course, they probably don’t bring this stuff up every Sunday, because why irritate the simple flock. But the big boys know.
If I've got this straight, mormons do not believe that reaching the highest level of exaltation in celestial heaven is the same as being god's equal. A mormon guy believes that where God is today, he will be tomorrow -- but he won't be God's equal, because by that time, God will have "evolved" beyond that stage of his development. Kapeeeesh?
And all you mormons out there, I'm relying on you to correct this information if it's wrong.

Now if you believe this oneness refers to a trinity, then the scripture has even deeper meaning for you, because we are to become one in God. According to the doctrine of the Trinity the righteous will be God.
I could have that wrong, so don't take it as, er, "gospel."

And if we are all gods, then Christ has just been reduced in size to a midget - he was just luckier to get his god wings sooner than I did.

Well, I think there’s something about him having to call out her secret name or she gets the boot. But it sounds like a pretty good scam to me, cause the husband just gets to go one procreating willy nilly with whatever young spirit chicks he can pick up on planet Zorg.
Now, I think a Mormon wife would be humiliated as hell to be treated like a used burlap sack in heaven, but who am I to question the Holy works of Josph Smith, who had 30 plus wives down here before gettin his planet.
