Just think about it this whole things is so silly how often does an investigator come to the Church wearing a cross?
I know my ward does not give it any mind.
I just chalk this up to another detractor fairytale!
Four. If I’m not mistaken, PP was the first in my family to become Mormon. He wasted little time, tho, huh?
Thank you.
Would those fruits be polygamy, Mountain Meadows Massacre, and racism....the church continues hiding so much!
By their fruits ye shall know them.
Have you checked to see if she is still LDS?
Yes!
:-)
There has been wonderful fruits of our labor, thank you.
You’re church will never tell you how many have resigned or become inactive will they? Don’t you ever wonder why?
[Romney says he wept when he learned of the overturning of the rule against black men in the Priesthood.]
That was mighty white of him. What was he doing before the sudden revelation in 1978, praying for the souls of evil black people?
[And [God] had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them. And thus saith the Lord God; I will cause that they shall be loathsome unto thy people, save they shall repent of their iniquities.” (2 Nephi 5:21)]
“They are houses of God, there are about 130 worldwide.
Churches are places to meet oft, to partake of the emblems of our Lord, and renew our covenants with Christ. There are Thousands and Thousands worldwide. Some places you can stand and throw a rock from one and hit another.”
So, since we must play semantics, why the Golden Bail on top your Temples? Sorry, didn’t realize Temples were such special places they couldn’t even be considered a Church. Is this where you learn to do the secret Hi-5 handshake.
Question for you, does Romney have to call out his wife’s name in heaven before she’s really married to him?
“Would you vote for me for president, no matter how qualified I might be?”
[Possibly, depending on who else was running. ]
Well, my religious convictions would tell me to oppose Mormonism, so apparently you would vote for someone who would use the presidency as a pulpit against your beliefs.
“So, since we must play semantics, why the Golden Bail on top your Temples?”
I already explained to you the symbolic significance of the statue of Moroni on top of many (not all) of the temples. You failed to hear.
“Question for you, does Romney have to call out his wifes name in heaven before shes really married to him?”
Nope, I’m afraid that he’s stuck with her, if they were sealed in the temple. Neither one is getting anywhere in the afterlife without the other. They were really married as soon as they made the promises to each other and God. Another rumor with a refutation you’ve failed to hear.
“Well, my religious convictions would tell me to oppose Mormonism, so apparently you would vote for someone who would use the presidency as a pulpit against your beliefs.”
Ah, but using the presidency to attack (or support, for that matter) a specific denomination would be a policy decision, and that is grounds for political opposition.
If Romney were to come out saying that he looked forward to being President because it helped him advance his religion, I would be the first in line to oppose him. Such an attitude has no place in the White House.
Speaking of thread topics....One would wonder at the surprise of mormons when this particular thread produces rebuttal posts.
In reading Saundra's home page, it is evident that she is very proud of having been a very active FReeper for nearly ten years and after all that time should know what the response would be to this thread title. As I've said several times, I question the placing of the article in the news forum instead of the religion forum. It seems strange that one who has been around so long would be unaware of the posting procedures.
There are several Romney threads running right now (imagine that!) regarding his flip-flops, particularly on abortion.
What a very excellent post. Words fail me.
OK. So which candidate are you most like? Be forewarned that I do not vote for candidates based on their religion. I would never vote for Harry Reid. I’m on the fence about Mitt Romney. I’ve voted for Orrin Hatch for senator, but I wouldn’t have voted for him in the primaries for President.
Exactly which person accused or group accused the youth groups and others who hung the DVDs on the doors of a hate crime? I know many who thought the cover of the DVD was deceitful, but a hate crime?
Interesting. However, I do believe I will allow Jesus Christ at the Judgement day judge my heart and whether or not I believed in Him or the core doctrines of Christianity. I do believe I will go on believing in Him, first and foremost.
So why the new name and the sacred ‘tokens’ (handshakes)?
Of course Romney will not preach from the Presidential pulpit. No one believes that he will.
His high powered office, and the repetive use of Romney as an example and used for PR (just like the Church used the Osmonds, Gladys Night, Glen Beck, etc, etc) will be a way to legitimize Mormonism. This will cause great harm to Christianity that believes Christ IS God.
So by our voting for Romney, we are being unwittingly used by the LDS Church to heighten it’s religious standing and legitimacy. The LDS tells us not to use Romney’s religion when we decide our vote, will they in turn promise NEVER to use the Office of President to promote their Church?
Oh, they may very well promise to do so....but we’ve seen how open and honest the LDS Church is haven’t we?
"Today our nation doesn't fight a civil war, with brother fighting against brother," he said. "But we are plagued with brother fighting brother with handguns in university classrooms, drunk drivers in vehicles on the streets and highways, and hate-filled talk on the radio or in DVDs."
.....Pretty damning of us Christians wouldn't you say?
