I don’t know just how they balance everything; but, they are rewarded in many ways. Our bishop related to us that the Stake President likes to take some time in their monthly meetings to talk about “payday moments” - those experiences that make all the sacrifice worth it.

John 4:1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. And how do we test these spirits?
By their Fruits
A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

If I am concerned for your immortal soul, it is hardly ill will to oppose the darkness.
Yes, we feel the same way. See how it works?

How anyone could claim that Lucifer would possibly qualify for Salvation is so far off the scale, its ridiculous. The Scripture clearly says the Son of Man was made manifest that He might destroy the works of the Devil. Not to offer salvation for him. Oy vey.
This is an intentional misdirect. The LDS DO NOT believe that Satan has any chance at all at Salvation.
Read Revelations 12, the whole chapter.

In the Old Testament there are HUNDREDS of commands that man must follow to obide by God’s law. It is easy to say, well... that’s the Old Testament, and we don’t need it anymore. But we learn in the New Testament that Jesus wasn’t throwing away the Old, he was the living fulfillment of all of God’s commands and better yet, God’s glory.
If each of us were to try to be perfect every day, we’d fail multiple times. We even know that THINKING an evil thought is repulsive to God, let alone doing an evil act. No one can rise to that type of scrutiny, save Jesus.
This “blanket forgiveness” that you mention gives us such freedom to live joyful lives. Like our earthly parents forgive us for our multiple errors as children, God reads our hearts, knows what our intentions are, hears our silent apologies and prayers offered to him, and allows us to take yet another breath, continuing on the human journey through the day... and into the years to come.
This blanket salvation of course was paid for on the cross, but it is such a comfort to me that my Heavenly Father... My Heavenly PARENT, knows me intimately and is with me every step of the way even if I stumble.

Gosh, CC, is it time to bring the muck wagon in and begin shoveling out some of this accumulating fecal spin? Bwahahaha, talk about tornadic spinning ... Mrmonism Apologist = we wont proselytize too much if you shut up and sit down and stop opposing us so much.
No really, look at the posting history on all these myriads of Romney threads, with this one being the exception. Every time a thread is hijacked into a anti Mormon thread, we defend, you offend, we defend some more, you offend some more. You would be extremely hard pressed to find a post by an LDS member starting a proselytizing efforts, those belong in the religion forum. If you don't want to hear it, then hold your peace and have respect for others beliefs. We'll have super short threads and no proselytizing will happen.

The dog returns to his own vomit. Now that was just rude! Why can't you just be a good boy and say I'm bulimic or something? ;-)

I was converted in 1982 it was a few years later I read a book call a A Soul So Rebellious Soul it was about a black young lady from Chattanooga, Tennessee, and her encounter with the missioaries. She had join the Church a little before the July 1978 proclamation when all righteous males could join the pristhood reading her tell the story and that moment brought tears to my eyes too it was really a true jublilee in spirit of the Lord!
Proud, intelligent, stubborn, rebellious Mary Frances Sturlaugson was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, the fifteenth child in a black family of twenty-four children. In this book Mary portrays vividly and forthrightly her struggle to survive in a hostile environment.
The first of her family to graduate from high school. She applies for, and is awarded, a full scholarship to Dakota Wesleyan University in South Dakota. A summer job on a nearby Indian reservation puts Mary in direct contact with the much-despised Mormon missionaries. Seeing her chance to vent her hatred for these whites, who represent, in her eyes, the epitome of racist propaganda, Mary takes them on in full-scale battle.......

If you want to see stares and whispers and finger-pointing, just dare to wear a cross to an LDS church meeting, or even a social event. That is patently untrue.
I agree. My wife has a lot of Irish blood in her, so her dad got her an Celtic Cross on one of his trips. She wears it on occasion, even to some church functions.
We don't wear it as religious reminders like many do, and we don't make fun of it either, like so many here are prone to do about our religious clothing that reminds us about Jesus.

Humility is a pre-requisite to learn things of the spirit.
I fail miserably at that all the time as well. It's amazing I know anything at all.

They are houses of God, there are about 130 worldwide.
Churches are places to meet oft, to partake of the emblems of our Lord, and renew our covenants with Christ. There are Thousands and Thousands worldwide. Some places you can stand and throw a rock from one and hit another.

So very true. Thanks for that, sevenbak.
Also, I’ve never seen anyone be made fun of for wearing a cross to an LDS church meeting. It’s not a frequent occurrence that someone does, but it’s not wrong to wear one.

Would you vote for me for president, no matter how qualified I might be?
Possibly, depending on who else was running. But knowing your posting history, you would most likely alienate your entire voting base, and I'd I'd never have a chance to.

Speaking of the DVD’s , how is the missionary work going Color, did it cause a mass exodus from the Church yet? How many were there total anyway? For some reason 300 thousands sticks in my mind, but you may know more.
