I think this article is about right. I notice the biggest Giuliani supporters were those who claimed national security overrode their claimed pro-life/pro-family/pro-gun convictions with the remainder of them being liberal Republicans who thought he could win Blue states.
Good find.

Remember the posts hoping Joe Lieberman would switch to the GOP? He and Giuliani are one and the same.
Giuliani would probably win running as a Dem, but he could never get himself nominated.
The problem the conservatives have is finding ONE person to vote for in the primaries - I see Giuliani winning the nomination almost by default, with conservative support being diffused among Hunter, Thompson, Tancredo, et al.

...Giuliani declared that if a Democrat were to be elected president in 2008, he (or she) would "wave the white flag" in Iraq......... Too late-done already. Oops---looks like Rooty used an OLD campaign playbook----compiled before the Dims took power. Guess Rooty hasn't caught on yet. /s
Keep in mind that Rooty Campaign Central tightly controls Rooty's public utterances. Notice that Rooty's awfully secretive about actually delivering a solid foreign policy speech in public.
Back in March, JimRob went to Rudy's campaign web site expecting to learn a lot about Rudy's vision for America, his plans for the war and what he's going to do about Iran, Syria, North Korea, etc, and how he's going to cut government, cut spending, cut taxes, etc. Nada. Nothing. JimRob came away with an empty feeling----and commented that the frontrunner is an empty suit running on name recognition only. JimRob wondered with the rest of us what Rudy's qualifications are that make him the BEST man to lead as CIC?
No question, these are critical positions a candidate should certainly provide to voters.
So hang in there, FReepers----the Rooty WOT-whiners are plotting to keep us dumb voters in the dark as long as possible.

I see a President Hillary or Obama in our future. It will become a hate crime to talk against abortion and they will bust your door down to get your guns but at least youll have shown Rooty how mad you are. Here's the problem - we're just about as likely to get the above from Rudy as we are from the Democrat nominee. Also, FWIW, I'm not mad at Giuliani - he's just being himself.
I *am* very worried by the fact that the Republican Party has been so successfully infiltrated by people who hold the barest minimum of conservative beliefs. To me, voting for Rudy is akin to dragging the Trojan Horse inside the city gates. I'll pass.

I don't think so. I think Thompson will run. Ron Paul will suck up about 4% of the vote. Romney will get 8%-10%. The second-tier candidates will get 7%-8% combined. Giuliani and Thompson will split about 80% of the remaining vote.
I would agree that if we don't unite behind Thompson, Giuliani has a real chance.

I notice he doesn't deliver a solid speech on most any topic. But he is certainly playing the fear-of-Achmed card at every whistlestop. Recently, he's tried out a few fear-of-Hitlery speeches too.

Not surprising. This is exactly the same strategy used by the left. Scare their sheep into voting Democrat by demonizing Republicans. Trouble is, it hasn't really worked for them. At the height of this strategy by the Dems, they were losing national elections badly.
And it won't work for Rudy. Personally, I'm more worried about a Giuliani presidency than a Hillary presidency. At least a Hillary presidency will re-energize the conservative base of the GOP as her husband's did. A Rudy presidency will basically destroy the GOP as a conservative party. We'll have a socialist party and a communist party, just like they do in Europe.
No thanks.

If Rooty is your nominee, I will work against him. Abortion supporting, gun-grabbing RINOs are not gonna get my support. Not now, not never.
Ditto.

You reply is why I feel so pesimistic. I see a President Hillary or Obama in our future. It will become a hate crime to talk against abortion and they will bust your door down to get your guns but at least youll have shown Rooty how mad you are.
Such laws are much more likely to be enacted by a liberal Republican like Rudy and pass unopposed by the Congress. If Hillary or Barry O'Bama tried it, the GOP would resist, if only for purely political reasons.

Rooty’s ONLY credential is 911-——his campaign team has said nothing else about him matters, except those magic numbers. Now Rooty’s screwing that up........
Unbelievably——Julie-Annie declared that if a Democrat were to be elected president in 2008, he (or she) would “wave the white flag” in Iraq?
As Inquisitive1 posted: “Too late-done already.”
Oh well......the Rudiani WOT-whiners aren’t worried.
Already in the works is Rooty’s handlers manufacturing an “international event” or “financial crisis,” to allow the lisping liberal Rudester to showoff his (gag) “take-charge” attitude.
