SECRETARY COHEN NAMES FORMER SENATOR GARY HART AS CO-CHAIR TO SENIOR ADVISORY BOARD ON NATIONAL SECURITY

Secretary of Defense William S. Cohen announced today the selection of former Sen. Gary Hart to serve as the co-chair of the Senior Advisory Board on National Security. Hart will replace former Sen. David Boren, who stepped down earlier this week because of his responsibilities as the president of the University of Oklahoma. In making this announcement, Cohen highlighted Hart’s vast experience, keen intellect, and many important contributions to the nation’s security. “Gary Hart stands out as one of our nation’s best thinkers and most skilled practitioners on matter dealing with America’s security. He already has made enormous contributions to the work of this study. I can think of no better candidate to fill this important leadership role,” Cohen said”

do you know whether Rudy is on record claiming to be a practicing Catholic? i, like you, am a traditional Catholic, and will have a huge problem if he says anything more than that he was raised Catholic. and i sincerely hope that no one is dispensing communion to him.

I am not sure if RG is a practicing Catholic, i. e., he attends Mass on a regular basis or receives the Sacraments. Perhaps someone else more familiar with the Archdiocese of New York can provide further insight into that matter.

If Giuliani were the only candidate I would not vote for him. Character does matter. He can act as an adviser on some matters, but should never be entrusted to be head anything. His past personal life shows little ability to maintain decency. As president he would find greater opportunity to break his vows and bring shame upon the entire nation.
