Soccermom,

When you are the person seeing your children turned against you by a bitter exspouse, are not allowed access, and have your authority and good name with your children undermined and attacked at every opportunity by an ex and go through an ugly drawn out bitter divorce, I’ll think you have a clue on this topic.

I’m sorry, but I really don’t think you do here... Yes, you can be set up to lose your temper at your own daughter or son, EVERYONE has their limits, EVERYONE whether it be Alec Baldwin or the King of England. And if you are inhuman enough that ou will keep your cool in such situtations as they drag on for YEARS... well you are naive.

I’ve seen some of the most gentle souls I’ve ever met snap from these sorts of things. I’m not condoning Alecs behavior, but to try to parlay his obvious frustrations with is clearly an ongoing FAMILY issue into some political hit piece, which is EXACTLY what Hannity and the Right wing talk radio folks want to do with it is disgusting and dispicable. No less so than NBC broadcasting that murderers tapes and photos.

There are pleanty of reasons to disagree with and attack Alec Baldwin for his politics... however to try to use this sort of thing as a reason to pile on is uncooth, undignified and shameful.

Again, you are not grasping the point. I doesn't matter how horrible you presume Bassinger to be. (And, frankly, we don't really know if she has done anything to turn her daughter against her father.) Even if she has, that is no reason to curse out the child. If this were an issue of him yelling at Bassinger, I could see your point. But it isn't. He is cursing out his own child -- the one you presume has been "poisoned" against her father. Sorry, there is NO excuse for that -- unless Baldwin is mentally ill.

You want to frame this in the context of a divorce battle, because you have your own bitter issues. But this isn't about the divorce. If this were the only instance of Baldwin's rage, you could blame it on the divorce. But it isn't. He has a history of rage that predates the divorce. I'm willing to bet that in the chicken-and-egg debate, the rage led to the divorce -- not the other way around.

I don't think, for the child's sake, the clip should have been released. But I think Baldwin's rage is, indeed, fair game for public consumption. When liberal Hollywood types put themselves up as more caring, more tolerant, and more enlightened than the rest of us, it is entirely appropriate for us to discuss his character.

Yeah, the "divorce" made him do it.

And I'm sure his daughter made him do this. She was what? Two days old?

For me, this has absolutely nothing to do with his political views. This has to do with an adult cussing out his 11 year old child and calling her a “rude little pig.” If he has a problem with her mother and said, “I think your mom is a rude little pig” yeah, maybe I could give him somewhat of a break in that he may have lost it due to years of frustration. I’d still think it was pretty pathetic. But that’s not what he did and it’s not the first time he’s done things like this.

Friend,

Let’s just say that I have some identification with what a vindictive, spiteful, custodial ex-spouse can do. I have been on the receiving end of this, just like a lot of people.

However, the words, tone, and constant harping on “I”, “me”, and “my” by this man tells me that he is a true POS. This has nothing to do with his politics.

Kim Whatsername is more than likely another shallow, Hollywood naricssist, but Alec Baldwin is no man.
