1531. Partial-birth abortions prohibited
(a) Any physician who, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, knowingly performs a partial-birth abortion and thereby kills a human fetus shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 2 years, or both. This subsection does not apply to a partial-birth abortion that is necessary to save the life of a mother whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself. This subsection takes effect 1 day after the enactment.

No commentary on US Code 18 1531 is legal advice, I am not a lawyer. Nonetheless, I read English pretty well, and I savvy, "This subsection does not apply to a partial-birth abortion that is necessary to save the life of a mother whose life is endangered by a physical disorder, physical illness, or physical injury, including a life-endangering physical condition caused by or arising from the pregnancy itself."

Yes! We have been embroiled for the past few days in the tragedy of the mass killings at VT. Does anyone else think that partial-birth abortion is different than that kind of slaughter? All are human beings and the only difference is the stage of development. Partial birth abortion is purely and simply infanticide and is disturbing and evil? In the view of the Rosie O’Donald’s of the world, it is O.K. to kill the helpless and innocent by crushing their skulls. It is the “reproductive right” of the woman. This is the attitude toward human life which declares that the death of an innocent, if someone stronger deems it to be inconvenient, can be snuffed out and politically justified. How dangerous is this? Thank God, we have Supreme Court Justices who see the danger. However, when the left takes over and begins to appoint their own kind to this court, infanticide could be expanded to include other “innocents” who will be defined as not quite human for the purpose of extermination.
