L. Neil Smith has written a lot of SF with a libertarian theme. “Probability Broach” contrasts two parallel worlds that a Denver cop travels between. One, like todays, where the thugs are more or less in charge and a *very* heavily armed libertarian society. 1st one I ever read from him .
