MCCAIN GAIN IN GOP POLL (social conservatives elbowing RINO Rudy out of the running)
NY POST ^ | April 17, 2007 | MAGGIE HABERMAN

Posted on 04/17/2007 2:53:01 AM PDT by Liz

Giuliani's lead in the polls has started slipping, putting struggling Sen. John McCain within striking distance - but only if Fred Thompson or Newt Gingrich jumps in......The ex-mayor led McCain by 6 points if either Gingrich or Thompson, (who) appeal to social conservatives, gets into the race, the CNN poll shows......a campaign with Thompson and Gingrich in it would be even more helpful to McCain.......Giuliani's lead over McCain falls to just 3 points...That's a big change from last month, when Giuliani had a 16-point edge over McCain. Obama has gained ground on Clinton, with Clinton snaring 36% to Obama's 28%.

Ut, oh----Rudeo slipping in the polls?

This means only one thing: the Giuliani Poll-Engineering Team ("we give good polls") will spring into action.

The Team is looking for people to poll even as we type----people who have no idea they are voting for Rudy---until the push-pollsters get them on the phone.

McCain inspires me—to go back to sleep this morning.

He’s part of the reason we are at where we are now.

His Gang of 14 is the reason more judges of conservative bent aren’t on the bench now.

He’s a recent convert to the supply side. Those tax cut cold have been permanent now, if he had used the platform the liberal press gave him on Sunday morning to press for there approval.

He’s for Shamesty too.

So he’s for the war. It used to be a time when every Republican was a hawk on defense.

I look at him, and I see a future yes man for Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

Fred Smith (Fed Ex) in an unusual move endorsed John McCain yesterday. I don't usually pay any attention to endorsements, but Fred is Tennessee. I have said all along that McCain is the choice of the RNC.

Good. I don’t understand why those who think terrorism (as opposed to internal decay) is our greatest national threat think Rudy is the one to lead us in the WOT. What has he done besides gives speeches? Until the 9/11 TV appearances, his political career was circling the porcelin bowl for the last time.

juan mckennedy ( Media Az.) has no chance of winning our nomination. This is gibberish. He has not been able to break 10% in a Freep poll and even lost to “No thanks I’ll stay home”.

As opposed to Rudy? ROTFLMBO!!!
I don't like McCain either - but come on now, Rudy is a Democrat who just happens to run as a Republican. He's not a "yes man" for the Democrats - he IS a Democrat!

Sorry, if the alternative is McLame, give me Rudy. I will not vote for McCrazy, period. Hillary’s evil behavior I can predict, but McCrazy is utterly nuts.

“Ut, oh——Rudeo slipping in the polls?”

Oh wait, I thought these polls meant nothing this early on to the anti-Rudy people. The only poll that was credible was Rasmussen. Well check it out today. From a week ago Rudy is at 33% (+6), McCain is at 19% (+3), Thompson is at 13% (-1), and Romney remains at 12%. How can that be?

N-i-c-e- take, MM.

And you've noticed that the online WOT contingent (forever yapping about "defense").....start kissing-up to Rudy when he trashes conservatives?

Even WOT lurkers suddenly start posting....deliriously happy b/c their champion is chasing conservatives out of the party (they think).

Now, The Rooty Team tightly controls Rooty's public utterances. More specifically, Rooty's being awfully secretive about actually delivering a solid foreign policy speech in public.

Man, it's almost like Rudiani and the WOT-whiners are plotting to keep the dumb suckers guessing as long as possible. Or maybe just until they can precipitate an international event to allow The Little Rudester to showoff his (gag) "take-charge" attitude.

If it comes down to McCain versus Rudy, I take McCain. He has the strongest and best position on Iraq. I hope Fred runs.
