if they couldn't get a usable set of prints off the guy, and the labels were cut out of his clothes, stuff like that, I'd be tending more toward a terrorism angle and less about a student/boyfriend/professor/TA going postal.

And if the shooter really shot himself instead of being taken down by LEO it lends credence to a programmed assault.

I have to wonder about the two hour gap between the two shootings. Why would a gunman with a specific personal target kill that person then wait 2 hours to rampage and massacre people he did not know?

If after the first shooting he was in a blind fury why not start shooting at random right after the first shooting? Why wait 2 hours? Was he counting on the first incident being determined to be isolated? Was he hoping that waiting so long would mean security and police would think the campus was safe?

In is my opinion this was a very planned deliberate attack. I think no matter the motive of the first shooting it was a kind of practice/ decoy run. The perp probably watched very closely the police, security and EMT responses to the shooting. He brought chains with him to block exit doors. Bet if he knew someone might be shooting back he might not have been so keen to commit mass murder.
