This should come as no surprise to anyone. In fact, this is how Imus himself would deal with employees who cross the line on the air.
I remember Sid Rosenberg getting suspended for several weeks after he made an on-air reference to a celebrity with breast cancer (Kylie Minogue?) as a "bald, one-titted girl" or something like that.

Don Imus is the one and only MSNBC show that beats all its cable competitors in that time slot. Don’s remark was stupid. MSNBC’s reaction is beyond stupid.
