The drought-ravaged Gayngaru wetlands in Australia's Northern Territory. Climate change is set to inflict damage in every continent, hitting poor countries hardest and threatening nearly a third of the world's species with extinction, UN experts warned Friday.(AFP/File/Torsten Blackwood)

millions of poor people will suffer from hunger, thirst, floods and disease unless drastic action is takenThat is the recurring theme of every liberal/socialist cause.
I guess they haven't been able to replace or update some of their aging "newspeak" spinmeisters.

Personally I think we should be allowed to know exactly what species are included in that one third. If it includes house flies, horse flies, mosquitoes, walruses, rhinos, rinos, manatees, liberals, termites, carpenter ants, fanatics, squirrels and the French... we should speed the process up a bit.

2000 scientists...and not one dissent ? not possible, except.....
2000 scientists all having the same premise, come to the same conclusion, based on data that allows for no other conclusion.

The game is up on Climate change. They have spent any credibility they had with an extreme overstatement of case. Even if what they say is true (which I don’t believe) they are still insisting on itemizing a list of potential negative consequences of climate change without acknowledging the real probability of some long term positives. The are no different than the religious apocalyptics. Anytime a prediction doesn’t pan out they change their analysis to explain why the negative result is actually even more proof of why they are right. It is pitiful.

As the world gets hotter by degrees,
Not tonight in the middle of Missouri.
Predictions are that the all-time recorded low for April 7 of
25 degrees...will be solidly busted by a low of 19 degrees in
the early morning hours.
And this cold snap will be at least a week long.

with the risk that nearly a third of the Earth's species will vanish if global temperatures rise just 3.6 degrees above the average temperature in the 1980s-90s, the new climate report says. It won't make this species vanish. If the max temp in my backyard goes from 115 to 118.6, I don't think I'm going to notice much difference. It's freakin' hot anyway!
