Herb Caen was a Chronicle columnist that used to berate Savage in his daily column and when he died Michael had the water pouring sound effect going and said”I’m standing here today at Herb Caen’s grave . . .” Caen was loved by the libs so I guess ksfo and maybe even the greater management at 900 Front took a lot of heat. He doesn’t bring it up. I think Caen had a thing against radio. He used to bash Alex Bennett too, back when he had a popular morning show here.
