I voted for Nixon in 1972. It was my senior year of high school. Only 4 students in a graduating class of 799 admitted to having voted for Nixon : )
If these “anti-war” suckers weren’t so psychotically anti-American back then, I may have stayed on but any suggestion they tone it down was met with threats. And the same thing is going on now.
