Be interesting to see how they make this the fault of the administration.

Just like a socialist - wants to expand the bureaucracy to find “solutions”.... Brain-dead Demo-Socialists who have learned absolutely nothing from the collapse of the Soviet Union.

Did Durbin compare the poisonings to the Holocaust?

This is the Democrat’s mantra: Expand government. Make people rely on THEM for every single thing. It’s creating a country filled with weenies.

Apparently, he’s particularly angry that they’ve taken Ol’ Roy Choice Cuts off the shelves. It’s his favorite appetizer.

Durbin considers wheat gluten to be one of the four major food groups.

“…Durbin (D-Ill.) said the role of the Food and Drug Administration needs to be expanded…”

When idiot politicians have no clue what to do, they expand.

They believe they are fooling us into thinking something intelligent is being done.

“The investigation continues to focus on contaminated wheat gluten imported from China through ChemNutra Inc. of Las Vegas.”

Here is this little gem from the ChemNutra Inc. website:

We are a professionally managed, American owned company experienced in negotiating, securing and delivering ultra-competitive pricing on high-quality chemicals and ingredients from quality-assured manufacturers in China. We bridge the business and cultural gaps…including all regulatory, compliance, import and transportation requirements.

We specialize in Taurine, L-Cysteine, Glycine, Vital Wheat Gluten, and Glucuronolactone, and we also handle many other ingredients.

ChemNutra imports over 4,000 tons per year, and our customers include several Fortune 500 companies.

My predictions:

The FDA will get all the blame.

Congress won't accept any for abrogating its oversight responsibilities.

And the PRC will be let off the hook.

Is Dickie Durban talking about the same FDA that is responsible for the safety of Our food supply. The same food that sickens thousands and kills dozens of people every year. I think the pet food industry has a done a remarkable job until this latest incident. How could this been prevented when scientist can't agree on what was in the pet food.

Are we not at war?

On two fronts?

Nice to see that Mr. Durbin has found something to to with his copious amounts of free time...

The net result of his hearings will be higher prices for pet foods. Count on it.

During a press conference today in Wicker Park, Durbin (D-Ill.) said the role of the Food and Drug Administration needs to be expanded to prevent future threats to humans and animals

Good going, Dickie: you haven't even held useless grandstanding hearings yet, and the solution is already more goobermint jobs. Surprise, surprise.
