Naturally, I was wrong. If he was stationed in Iceland in 41’, he was probably with the 6th Marines (1st Marine Brigade (Provisional)). The 6th also fought on Guadalcanal, Tarawa, Saipan, Tinian, and Okinawa.

dang!!! you my brother are a thoroughbred......my pop was in Korea and did the landmine thing in Chu-Li, near Da Nang.... only a 2 war Marine....
Do you ever get pictures out and look at your pop when he was a young warrior? I've got a picture I showed my son of "grandpa" with vest full of ammo, shotgun, hand grenades and men and mud all around from Vietnam....God he was a sight.....
brings a tear to my eye..... God Bless your dad....God Blessed my dad
