Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah told Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad during their talks in Riyadh on March 4 that he should not underestimate the US military threat to Iran, according to Newsweek... In the interview, Prince Saud quoted the king as saying: Why do you want to take a chance on that and harm your country? What is the rush? Why do you have to do it (enrich uranium) this year and not next year or the year after? Or five years from now? What is the real rush in it? ...adding that Abdullah told Ahmadinejad: You're interfering in Arab affairs, a reference to Iran's alleged interference in the affairs of other Middle East countries... Saud also said it was a catastrophe for Iran to be holding 15 British sailors and Marines it had captured on March 23.

These minor disagreements will melt away like snow in the warm spring sunshine when both Arabs and Persians remind each other that destroying Israel is their most important common priority.

With 50-60% unemployment, 15% of the people in the country supporting the Religious dictatorship, student riots, antiiran terrorism and student riots there might be a new government any time. They have to act fast while they are still in power.

You notice I guess that saud didnt suggest that Iran drop their plans for a nuke or that they stop antagonising and stirring up trouble. Only that there is no rush.

In effect he was telling them to wait until they get stronger, until they get their nuke before deliberately enticing the Brits and America into attacking him.

The whole plan is for Islamic world rule, we all know this and we are allowing it to happen. Hell: We are paying for it with oil money, Anyone who cant see this is blind.

Of course, the meeting took place on March 4, about three weeks before Iran kidnapped the British soldiers, so the real story is, the King told Ahmedeadman that he'd better stop trying to build hegemony in the Arab world, and just wait a few years before building a nuclear bomb, because the Americans would be at home by then -- not mentioning of course that the Saudis are themselves in the early stages of nuke development.

Israel is just an alibi for Moslem imperialism, aggression, and extrajudicial murder -- one of many. Moslems slaughtering Moslems is the current show as well as the coming attraction, and we need to nurse that along. We sometimes forget that at least tens of thousands of Iraqi Moslems have been killed by al-Qaeda, Mahdi army, etc.

Well put. There are Arab thugs employed by the mullahcracy to keep the lid on. When the liberation starts, they'll be getting out as quickly as possible -- either to the front to fight the US armed forces, or just fleeing the Iranian people.

Basically what he is telling them "Wait until Bush leave office then the Americans will be as gutless as the British and you can do whatever you want".

Or to wait until a Democrat gets in the White House.

King Abdullah is an intelligent man and wise planner, as a enemy goes; however, Ahmedijad is a psycotic nutbar who will take Iran to destruction because he can. King Abdullah knows that he can conquer Europe and other parts of the globe by immigration alone and that it will just take time.
It's time to take Iran out then with Iran and Iraq as military footholds for bases we can sweep the middle east and oil will be cheap once again.

I don't think he sees it that way. When it comes to picking sides between Shia Iran and post-Christian US, the King is on our side.

"These minor disagreements will melt away like snow in the warm spring sunshine when both Arabs and Persians remind each other that destroying Israel is their most important common priority."

Sorry but you are wrong. Al Qaeda is a greater threat to the Saudi regime than Israel by a long shot. And the Saudis know it. This enlightened self interest is what is driving their actions nothing more.

We're not talking about al Qaeda here pal. The Saudis would be more than happy to see Israel disappear tomorrow if it were possible, or did you miss that not-so-subtle threat against Israel by Saud al-Faisal this past week at the Arab League summit when he said "If Israel refuses[the Saudi 'peace plan'], that means it doesn't want peace. Then (the conflict) goes back into the hands of the lords of war"

Sorry but you are wrong

When it comes to the dual desire on the part of the Arab nations plus their Persian neighbor to wipe out the Jewish State, I could not possibly be more right, and anyone with a room temperature IQ should be able to see the 'common goal'. The Arab/Persian (Iranian) idea of peace with Israel is a national tombstone with 'Rest In Peace Israel'.

Want more proof?

How many Middle Eastern muslim nations have recognized Israel and have diplomatic relations with them?

We all know one of them is Egypt, and that's only because Uncle Sucker (aka Sam) is bribing the Egyptians with billions of dollars each and every year.

Wow, what an angry response to a fairly obvious post.

Did I say that the Saudis are big fans of Israel? No. And your point about uncle sucker is a good one. But make no mistake. The Saudis are on the move in the middle east because they are under the gun. Iran knows this. That is why Iran is supporting Al Qaeda and the most militant Hamas factions. This is a 2-fer for them. It threatens Israel (as you correctly point out) and it threatens the Saudis (a point you seem oblivious to). The Sunni Al Qaeda fanatics are never going to depose the Shia rulers of Iran. But they may succeed in knocking over the House of Saud.

Take a deep breath and open your eyes. The Israelis themselves are open to the Saudi initiative. They are not going to accept it as a take-it-or-leave-it offer. But this does not mean war. If ever there was a place to look past the bluster it is the middle east.
