Thanks ... I had read that it is the drug of choice for heroin users during pregnancy. Perhaps she was a heroin user? Either way, I beg to differ that the baby was NOT affected by the meth she took while pregnant.

From what little I heard on the radio today as I was coming home, it would basically be miraculous if the baby was not affected by anything she was taking. I would guess (although I have no idea what all she was on) that any of the drugs she was taking...along with any alcohol she was drinking...would have a profound impact on the baby.

In fact, alcohol is one of the WORST things to expose a baby to. I have a friend who adopted seven (I think) children from one couple who were multiple substance addicts, and Fetal Alcohol Sydrome is by far the toughest to deal with.

In any case, it proves that addiction is ugly and base, no matter how much glitz, glamor and money it's gussied up with.
