HONORING EVIL - NYU'S 'RED-LETTER' DAY

NEW York University has trumpeted its acquisition of a large cache of materials donated by the Communist Party of the United States of America (CPUSA) to its Tamiment Library. A front-page New York Times story noted that the gift includes 12,000 cartons filled with documents and photographs from the party's newspaper. A celebratory conference to mark the event tomorrow is filled with party war horses and includes panels extolling the CPUSA's contributions to American society and culture. ...

For nearly 70 years - from shortly after its founding in Chicago in 1919 until the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1989 - the CPUSA was a tool of the Soviet Union and its murderous leaders. ...

You might have entered the CPUSA because of its staunch anti-fascist policies of the late 1930s, but if you wanted to remain in it after the Nazi-Soviet Pact, you had to accept that alliance as well as begin denouncing Franklin Roosevelt and the New Deal as imperialistic and profess indifference as to whether Hitler's Germany conquered Great Britain.

Soviet money propped up the party from its founding. By the 1980s, Moscow secretly and illegally supplied $2 million dollars a year to support the CPUSA.

Believing that the USSR was the harbinger of a new and better world, hundreds of Communists cooperated with Soviet intelligence agencies throughout the 1930s and 1940s, turning over top-secret information on the atomic bomb project and other military, industrial and diplomatic secrets. Party leaders not only knew about the espionage, but also actively promoted and encouraged it.

Despite its self-proclaimed commitment to peace and civil rights, the CPUSA not only endorsed a totalitarian regime, but also actively aided and abetted its activities.

The Left has never cared about freedom. That is why it aids and abets totalitarians - past and present.

Woody Gutherie didn't write "this machine kills fascists" on his guitar until after Hitler betrayed his beloved Joe Stalin.

I wonder if they'll accept Sen. Robert Byrd's KKK papers as well.

I have noted in many internet postings, emails and on a call to a local radio show that the Tucson "anti-war" protest on March 17th, 2007 was organized by the "District Leader" of the Communist Party USA for Arizona because I noticed the emails were the same and that guy always seems to be the one in charge at protests.

But the Communist Party USA for Arizona leader I referred to stopped by and told me at the March 17th protest that he is not the "District Leader" for Communist Party USA in Arizona! That person is someone else. The guy who leads anti-war protests in the Tucson area is the "Organizational Secretary" for the Communist Party USA. He's just a leader, not the (Maximum?) Leader.

So I apologize to the Communist Party USA in Arizona for that mistake.

But not for holding a sign that says "Say No To Communism" next to the "anti-war" protest. I meant to do that.
