I remember to this day watching the TV images of the U-Texas tower, August 1966, as police counterfire ricocheted off the upper deck. So glad they offed the worthless murdering SOB!
Too bad that today's worthless murdering SOB will probably die after a lifetime of three hots & a cot, comforted by endless legal appeals!

So attempted murder and threats to set people on fire ar OK so long as the perpetrator is of the same ethnicity, gender, and sexual preference as the intended victims? So long as your motive is love and not hatred it is OK. If hate crimes are worse than love crimes must be much better!

240 years - seems rather excessive.
Shouldn't the judge have shown some mercy and sentenced him to only 120 years?
Maybe with good behavior he'd be out in 80 years.

Nah, I like the 240 better and I would think the same if it had been a white person, brown person, yellow person, green person. Well you get my drift.

In defense of Charles Whitman, he did have a serious brain tumor that affected his behavior.

You can get Ravens and 38s quite easily on the black market. The only folks in NYC who get anything with more firepower via same black market are dope dealers, who will pay $1,000 for a .40 that I can get for half that price. Then again, I am a law abiding citizen.
There is, to my knowledge, one gun shop left in NYC in Queens. The one near Fort Hamilton in Bay Ridge closed 3 years ago.

This is what the headline said:
"240-Year Sentence for NYC Hate Crime"
I don't see anything in this headline about assault, attempted murder and other crimes.

Well! Is it finally possible that ALL hate crimes are being recognized as such?
To: Right_in_Virginia
Can someone please explain to me what is more of a "hate crime" than attempted murder? How about just plain murder?

When you start picking people off the clock tower remember to yell " I am going to love you all straight to hell!" And then add, "This is going to hurt me more than it's going to hurt you!"
