Why aren't the Bush daughters in Iraq? (the genius of Kitty Kelley)
L.A. Times ^ | March 19, 2007 | Kittty Kelley

WHEN I WAS a little girl in a convent school, the nuns impressed on me the power of setting a good example. These beloved teachers are no longer around to instruct the president and his family, so I recommend that the Bushes learn from Mark Twain, who said: "Always do right. This will gratify some people and astonish the rest."

My suggestion comes after the White House announcement earlier this month that Jenna Bush, one of the president's twin daughters, is writing a book on her all-expenses-paid trip to Panama, where she worked for a few weeks as an intern for UNICEF. Jenna Bush is quoted as saying she will donate her earnings from her book to UNICEF, a commendable gesture, considering her father's net worth of $20 million. But while the 25-year-old makes the rounds of TV talk shows this fall in a White House limousine, dozens of her contemporaries will be arriving home from Iraq in wooden boxes. In Britain, Prince Harry is insisting on going off to Iraq — even as his country is reducing its troop commitment.

If the left is so sickened by "hypocrisy" why do they not demand their "leaders" give at least 50% of their income to the Fed's as a good example?

Where was she in kosovo or Somalia, why did she not demand Chelsea Clinton be engaged in that conflict?

And sense when was the left for a father demanding his adult daughter enter a career she does not wish to enter?

Will the left as a good example to the rest of us, send their own flesh and blood to fight the inevitable regional war that WILL break out within a few years of us leaving so our men and women can have a respite?

It is quite amazing how history, and principles tend to disappear when a liberal wants to win office or sound witty.

They failed.

Who is Kitty Kelley and why should I care what she thinks?
Anyone who recommends women for military service - or compunctual military duty (regardless of sex) when there is not a pressing need - is intellectually suspect.
Oh wait, this was in the L.A. Times.

Nevermind.

So typical of the left to make everything personal. Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS) is at epidemic proportions, and has become mainstream. What was whispered and blogged 2 years ago is now shouted from the rooftops and broadcast on the airwaves. President Lincoln knew how to handle copperheads and traitors, why doesn't this administration?

Seems as though she and her fellow liberals require Bush to make a blood sacrifice.

I presumed they were beyond this superstitious behavior.

I thought our armed forces were all volunteer enlistees?
Is Kitty saying the the Bush Daughters should be drafted?
Is she wasting my time by saying something really stupid just to get my attention so I will do more than just read the headline?

That's debatable.

Hmmm... Why wasn't Chelsea Clinton in Iraq? I guess that's a question for Hillary to answer. More importantly - Why wasn't she in the Balkans war?

When are these fools going to get it? The United States Armed Forces is a volunteer service. Nobody is being drafted, or forced to enlist.

Kitty Kelley is a vicious little shrew. She has about as much social import as Teddy Kennedy.

"Where was she in kosovo or Somalia, why did she not demand Chelsea Clinton be engaged in that conflict?"

Bingo! She is simply a liberal, lefty, moonbat, loonie filled with irrational hatred of the President.

Why aren't the Bush daughters in Iraq?

Simple answer: They didn't volunteer for military service. This is something the left hates now, they can't scream about the draft so they try to imply it is still going and that the feds are scooping up young people off the street against their will and sending them to war.

Who wants to veture a guess on how many left wing nut cases think we still have a draft? This woman is an idiot.

Blue eyes helped Kennedy get elected in 1960, and then the Kennedy's spent the next 3 years going the Italian mafia who Sinatra enlisted to help them. A rather rude thing to do because the Kennedys were part of the Irish mafia and they didn't bother investigating the Irish mafia. I wonder why?
