"Hizbullah hasn’t conducted attacks in America out of concern that it would provoke too strong a response and disrupt the organization’s fund-raising in the US, according to Federal Bureau of Investigation assessments.

hmmmm - I've thought quite a bit about this - but with a twist. Why haven't the crime gangs not routed out this competition? I mean, It's tough stealing money. Our police organizations know most every scam they can run so any competition for new scams has to hurt business and there are only so many vice scams.

That aside, the crime lords (ours) must know they will be out of business if Islam takes over, they are after all, infidels.

This also got me to thinking about our liberal socialists. It seems everything they do guarantees Islam will prevail. The libs have to know an Islamic US is of no use to them so why not fight them.

It would be to the best interests of both the criminal element and the socialist Liberals to not allow Islam to flurish. I just don't get it.

You and one of my cousins. (I don’t know if it’s technically a sloop or what, but he lives in it.) Last I heard, he was in Sarajevo, working for the WHO, but he normally liked to live in Spain or perhaps southern France.

Neat guy. Wish he was in my part of the world.

Living on a sailboat is wonderful. The freedom I enjoy is unimaginable in today's world of regulations on top of regulations. I do maintain a 9 to 5 but it's different. When the weekends come around (or vacations), I fall off the face of the earth. There is a lot to be said for the ability to disappear from the system for a few days.

This is in preparation for retirement. If I'd have known 30yrs ago what it was like, I'd have move aboard then.

Group cleared over Iran murders.

Iran’s Supreme Court has acquitted a group of men charged over a series of gruesome killings in 2002, according to lawyers for the victims’ families.

The vigilantes were not guilty because their victims were involved in un-Islamic activities, the court found. The killers said they believed Islam let them spill the blood of anyone engaged in illicit activities if they issued two warnings to the victims.

The serial killings took place in 2002 in the south-eastern city of Kerman. The case raises serious questions about vigilantes in Iran taking justice into their own hands and undermining the rule of law. Up to 18 people were killed in just one year, but only five of the murders were tried in court.

According to their confessions, the killers put some of their victims in pits and stoned them to death. Others were suffocated. One man was even buried alive while others had their bodies dumped in the desert to be eaten by wild animals.

BAGHDAD, April 15 (Reuters) - The political movement of fiery Iraqi Shi’ite cleric and militia leader Moqtada al-Sadr said on Sunday it would pull out from the government on Monday to press its demand for a timetable for a U.S. troop withdrawal.

Officials from the movement, which holds six ministries and a quarter of the parliamentary seats in Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s Shi’ite Alliance, said the formal announcement would be made on Monday at a news conference.

Tens of thousands of Iraqis answered a call by Sadr to rally in the holy Shi’ite city of Najaf last week to protest against the presence of some 140,000 U.S.-led forces in Iraq.

The move is unlikely to bring down the government, but it could create tensions in Maliki’s fractious Shi’ite-led government of national unity at a time when it is trying to heal deep sectarian divisions.

“We are going to declare our withdrawal from government because the prime minister does not want to make a timetable for the withdrawal of foreign forces from Iraq,” said one official in Sadr’s movement who declined to be named.

U.S. President George W. Bush said last week that setting timetables for a troop withdrawal would undermine a U.S.-Iraqi security crackdown in Baghdad, which he said was beginning to show signs of progress in curbing sectarian violence.

Maliki has also said he sees no need to set a timetable. He said his government was working to build up Iraq’s security forces as quickly as possible so U.S.-led forces could leave.

The Sadrists ended a two-month boycott of parliament in January after pulling out in protest over the timetable issue and a meeting between Maliki and Bush. They returned after a deal was brokered.

A senior official in Sadr’s movement, Abdul-Mehdi al-Muteyri, said Sadr had also ordered the pullout, saying Maliki was hamstrung by political parties in his government pulling him in different directions.

“We don’t believe in partisan quotas. Under the direct orders of Moqtada al-Sadr we have decided we are going to leave the government in order to give the prime minister the best possible options so that he can run his government,” said Muteyri.

The U.S. military says Sadr is in hiding in Iran, but the cleric’s aides insist he is still in Iraq.

No...Levin’s goal is to take down Bush’s presidency..and lose the war.

If he gets to say “I told you so”..that is the cherry on top.
