"Bingo. And thank you, Jimmy Carter, the worst foreign policy President of my lifetime."

Of everyone life time. The dem party with the help of the MSM and NEA will try to keep the record of his history clean. This is despite the fact that real history record should show that he is probably the worst in the history of the country.

What we are going through is a direct result of his actions. Carter's legacy already is the death of thousands of people world wide. His latest are the deaths on 9/11 and of our troops in Iraq... not to mention all the Iraqi's dead because of what Carter unleashed.

Not enough can be said of how horrible a death angel Carter was and continues to be.

"We are clearly involved in an array of clandestine actions including plucking key leaders, bombings in the country, grabbing leaders in Iraq, instigating strikes and revolts in the country."

This is not D.U. FACTS please. Cite web references, video records, or debriefs of actual U.S. operatives. Anything you can provide to support the statement "we are clearly involved.."

I pay attention to many things, and have friends that would know of such actions, and nothing seems to support your statements.

So help us out and support your statements.

I'd be far more likely to believe that Mossad did it than anyone else. And good for them, too. It would be kind of funny if an Iranian hit squad somewhere in Europe was found dead with their weapons and plans laid out for anyone to see.

I believe they are clandestine. Hence, it seems likely that this info will be found on the cover of the Washington Post. Nonetheless, many analysts do speculate that the recent explosions in Iran have been assisted by the US and its allies.

An example of such speculation:

http://www.todayszaman.com/tz-web/detaylar.do?load=detay&link=103276

Explosions in Iran
The Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), recognized as terrorists by the US, has long been conducting actions against Iran under the name of PEJAK.

This group has thousands of members and is directly supported by the US administration, international sources say. Moreover, journalist Seymour Hersh, known for the information he obtains, said it was supported by the US and Israel. Keeping PEJAK as a network by which to bomb Iran by proxy does not benefit the US. It is also trying to increase the network's influence on the Kurds living in Iran. This may sound confusing but Kurdish groups in northern Iraq are uneasy about this move because it increases their already existing security concerns.

"I'd bet $500 that Israel's long arm got him"

Agreed. Israel is great at these things. We seem to be better at large scale stuff. Israel also has a number of on ground resources in all the muzzzie countries.

"I believe they are clandestine. Hence, it seems likely that this info will be found on the cover of the Washington Post."

Obviously it would be clandestine, but those types of actions just about always leave "traces" of some type. We are terrible clandestine operators. Usually we do not do things directly like this or hire operators to do do things like that just for that reason.

Something that is isolated but not like this in a city or a military base. U.S.N. Seals can and have done things like this on ships at sea or in isolated areas, but it recent years never in populated areas. Remember, the Dems now get to see all this type of info and they have blabber mouths and sleep with reporters from the NYT and Washington Post.

These actions strike me as either Israeli or a cover story for the Iranians for something that happened internally.

I am open to all of those possibilities that you mention.

My best guess is that we are providing financial assistance to any group that resists the clerical governance of Iran.

This could include radicals in the south and teachers unions in Tehran.

I think there are enough disgruntled souls and an increasingly restless economy to make it all come together for us.

Typical Middle Eastern bluster.

Rodomontade.

To quote (or perhaps paraphrase) the line from "The Maltese Falcon" - the cheaper the crook, the gaudier the patter.

Sam Spade to the gunsel Wilmer, a direct quote and terrific line.

Threat or promise?

FWIW, the method of delivery makes it deniable.

Time will tell.
