Little Alberto looks dazed and confused at press conferences. Another Bush crony who is way out of his league

This is the bottom line on this pseudo-scandal. If we had a competent administration this would be "old news--covered it already--let's move on. Next question."

Why is an inept affirmative action hire like Gonzales being thrown to the wolves? Where is Tony "the pro" Snow?

Despite the fact that up until now, regarding this case, it has been steady-on-the-wheel, principled, and right on the button

Your own statement is sef-contradictory. If the admin handling were everything your fantasy includes, the "case" would have been closed days ago already. The very fact that it is still in the news is peremptory proof of administrative incompetence.

I think they should get rid of Gonzales. He's a lousy AG!

This is really, really stupid. There's as much substance to this as the Scooter Libby charges. What the heck is wrong with Republicans to allow this?

Actually, it's very, very good! Gonzales is a lousy AG, and his ties to the illegals is too cozy. His department has put away 2 of our border patrol agents who NEVER should have gone to prison and Gonzales did NOTHING!!! I say, GOOD RIDANCE!

There is a Mike Gallagher column at townhall.com that does a great job breaking down this "scandal."

Riiight. Where do you think you live, a banana republic? Maybe Bush should "disappear" these recalcitrant members of Congress?

I hope Gonzales doesn't get thrown under the bus as a sacrifice to the dims, but if this guy goes it won't be a big loss.

He is absolutley gutless when it comes to prosecuting dims for the crap they pull. The best examples are Sandy Burglar and William Jefferson, Democrat, Louisiana.

"IIRC A. Gonzales's appointment was highly controversial prior to that appointment. Seems this action by GOP is in line with "I Told You So". Many were against his appointment."

Bush and Rove knew exactly what they were getting when they appointed Gonzales... a hack that would ignore federal border laws. Why do you think Ashcroft left?

"ZERO SYMPATHY: Albert hosed Ramos and Compean."

This is exactly the reason Rorhbacher joined the 'oust Gonzales' crowd.

I can't get too upset about Bush when he has these spineless twerps on "his side" in Congress.

Assume for a minute that Clinton was still president and several of the lawmakers of his own party called for the removal of his AG! What would their fate be? Would Clinton say, "Oh, it's just those twerps from my own party causing troubles for me"? I think not. Those folks would be standing tall in front of a desk in the Oval Office and it would be explained to them that any dollars going back to their districts is strictly out of the question!!!!! Bush won't or can't do that.......

The buck stops at Alberto's desk. GW is too distracted by Iraq to think about Ramos and Compean. Though I will pin the entire open borders stance on GW

3 of Alberto's 4 grandparents were illegal aliens. Wikipedia has this information
