Mixed blessing. Having the senate vote on anything is usually not a good sign.
Of course the good people of New York and Ill. will not have their senate representatives in attendance to vote at all as they are busy campaigning and too busy to represent the people that elected them.

What a rip-off. Once again, a "snow advisory" predicting one to four inches of accumulation has resulted in...a dusting.

In January 1970,while stationed at Fort Knox,an ice storm coated Louisville and vicinity with about an inch of ice.Fairly nasty but not the end of the world. However,it brought the Louisville to a screeching halt for a full week!
Coming from New England I thought it was hysterical.

Forget gather troops and arms. If you want to take over the country just deploy a few of these around Washington.

Oh, for Heaven's sake.
As I type this, I am in Arlington, Virginia, at 11:06 a.m., and there is almost no snow on the ground.

Oh really, Dingy Harry? I thought that was "global warming." Damn that snow and praise be to Al Gore!

Northern Virginia(20 miles west of Crapitol Hill) has ZERO accumulation.
Hey, but good thing they closed down all the schools. Don't want junior to have to chance it walking/riding to school in this 35 degree, ZERO accumulation "storm" we're having.

As I sit in my office looking out onto Connecticut Avenue, there is nothing on the street or the sidewalk. There is maybe 1/16th of an inch on the landscaping. None of these people has to commute in from anywhere. They all have houses or apartments in the District and I dare say, none of them ever have to pick up a shovel like the rest of us "little people."

Dear Washington Post,
I only have enough toilet paper for two weeks, and they are predicting up to one inch of snow! Whatever shall I do?
Dear Washington Post,
It's Tuesday and they are predicting one inch of snow on Wednesday. I need to abandon my car NOW! Is the Wilson Bridge or the American Legion Bridge a better place?
Dear Washington Post,
They are expecting an inch of snow today, so I may be trapped in my house for anywhere up to twelve hours. It's time for the newscasters to roam the aisles of Blockbuster, interviewing those of us who suffered from "cabin fever" on how we coped. How do I get in on that action? I want to be on TV!
Welcome to winter in DC.
