Now, if he is an older hunter and just moved in hunting circles, his original statement may have been a honest (if outrageously stupid and ignorant) mistake.
He has finally made a REAL apology with this letter. And he seems to have "gotten" it about the 2nd Amendment. Better late than never.
At this point, I'm willing to take him at his word and see what sort of actions he takes to follow up on this statement. If he's really had a change of heart, we'll know it pretty quick.
If we're absolutely implacable and refuse a humble apology, we drive him into the arms of the anti-gunners.

He still advocates from a position of protecting RKBA for "hunters and gun enthusiasts." I'm more interested in firearms for home and self defense. That's the important aspect of RKBA.
