The Stonewall Rebellion occurred due to a raid in 1969. It operated without a liquor license, had ties with organized crime (Mafia Owned), and offered scantily clad go-go boys as entertainment.
The STONEWALL Veterans' Association ("S.V.A.") is comprised of the actual, surviving, active veterans of the famous 1969 Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender ("GLBT") Stonewall Rebellion in Greenwich Village, New York, U.S.A.

Oh yes... I'm sifting through SmokingGun archives and NYT & Newsday articles, as well as LE mafia write-ups. Here's what I've found so far:
Rudy's (1st) cousin Lewis D'Avanzo (aka Steve the Blonde) was a gay mafia associate who was gunned down in a firefight with the FBI in '77. (Rudy knew this cousin enough to invite him to his 1st wedding...)
Which mafia family Steve worked for I wasn't able to nail down, though it appears to be Gambino as a Gambino enforcer was his 'partner.' Also, D'Avanzo's son was associated with the Gambino family.
It was the Gambino family who apparently owned the original Stonewall Inn where underage boys were on the menu.
