You have to remember-- being an actor is just pretending to be sincere on cue.

Saying you support the troops but not their mission is like saying you support firefighters but not putting out fires.

I appreciate their support for our troops. Now could someone please tell them that actions speak louder than words?

I do like that Robert Downey Jr. It's sad he battled drugs and it did some damage to his very promising career. Glad he's doing well now. He's a better actor than most actors in that auditorium. I hope he can make a huge comeback.

Hmmph...did anyone tell these snobs their messages were going to AMERICAN troops? They may have misunderstood and thought they were supporting "freedom fighters".

If America actually "Supports Our Troops," why do they feel the need to petition Congress for SUPPORT?????
Appeal For Courage
It is really a sad state of affairs when our Troops, in Harm's Way, feels the need to ask for support.
Shame, shame, shame on Congress and the left!!!!

"Legendary movie director George Lucas encouraged troops to 'keep up the good work.' " The last two Star Wars prequels had decidedly against-the-fighting/against-Bush overtones.

Downey seems sincere...I haven't heard him espouse any of the usual Hollywood crap; Paltrow and Gyllenhaal are two of the most vicious moonbats out there; I'm confused with Lucas, an Iraq war critic...by saying "Persistence will win" was he admitting that the war was not a mistake and the 'surge' was the right thing to do?

I appreciate their comments to the troops. It can't hurt.

Maybe I'm naive, but I think it's nice if Hollywood stars want to say something positive to the troops.

I didn't watch the show (I could care less about those self-congratulating egomaniacs), but did a single one of them mention our fighting men and women on stage during the show? Doubt it.
