We're in Silicon Valley. It's a definite NO from my better half on this plan of driving down.

---"I am willing and happy to get about 70% of the things I want,.."---

If you're getting 70% of what you want from Rudy Giuliani, you're in the wrong party.

And she is "happy" about it.

They just kinda want "moderate" freedom, and they just kinda want "moderate" tyranny. And they extremely want that.

He is against partial birth abortions, contrary to the misinformation some on here are posting. On Hannity Rudy said “Partial-birth abortion, I think that's going to be upheld(by the USSC). I think that ban is going to be upheld. I think it should be.” And as soon as Rudy got finished saying this, Hannity acknowledged, “There's a misconception that you supported partial-birth abortion”. So there we have, Rudy is against partial birth abortions.

Rudy has said he would support a ban with a provision for the life of the mother. However, he supported Clinton's veto of just such a ban. So once again, what are to believe, what he says now when he needs our votes, or what he did in the past when he could care less about our votes?

Do you not believe people can change their minds? Remember, Reagan was once a FDR Democrat but he geniunely changed. Rudy is not a panderer. He says what he thinks. If he was a panderer, he would just say he's done a 180 on abortion. Also, do you think Hannity is a liar?

Do you not believe people can change their minds?

Conservative ephiphanies that coincide with suddenly needing the social conservative vote are less than convincing, quite frankly.

I wasn't expecting you to be convinced anyways. You didn't answer my question, do you think Hannity is a liar?

Santorum was crushed because the president did not come to his aid as he did Specter.

Baloney. The President was a tad more popular when Specter was running. Even then, in PA, Bush was about 50% in popularity, if I am remembering correctly. Further, Bush was helping Specter with the Republican primary. I don't think Specter needed help in the general election from Bush.

Santorum needed no help from Bush for the primaries, and Bush would have been of zero help for him in the general election.

Just WHAT exactly are you recommending? That proselytizing to FR will somehow make everyone here clones; get everyone here to agree on 90% of your interpretation of what is "ORIGINALIST CONSERVATISM"?

Ever since I've read and replied to that interrogative, it's begged for your own clarification. FR being a 'Conservative Forum' it seems your choice of words is curious, ironic and frankly, even a bit hostile.

Here at FR, Leftist trolls would proselytize AWAY from true Conservative views, while True Conservatives would reinforce TOWARD truly Conservative views.

The reverse would be true at DU.

So, why the apparent hostility? Do you disagree with any of the Ten Commandments and if so, which one(s) and why? Do you disagree with the premise that 'All Men Are Created Equal' and have inalienable rights? Do you disagree with the premise that life begins at fertilization? Do you disagree with the premise that slavery is wrong, that people are not chattel including unborn children?

I responded; your turn. What is True Conservatism to you, please?

Good to think Hannity isn't a liar. Then that means you think Hannity is telling the truth when he said there is a misconception Rudy is for partial birth abortion. Glad to see you finally recoginize the truth.

You apparently cannot recognize subtlety. Hannity is more than glad to help Rudy spin his newfound respect for PBA bans.

I don't believe a minute of it, given Rudy's history on the subject.

No, people never change their minds. Reagan was never a big FDR Democrat. /s

I've been following this thread and the last few messages between between you and dirtboy.

He's right. You keep wandering from the point that was raised.

You jumped into the thread when dirtboy raised the point to MittFan08 that Rudy G. would have a hard time flipping pro-life and pro-gun Pennsylvania Democrats and Indies over to the Republican side. Instead of addressing his point, you went off on a tangent that had very little to do how Rudy G. could attract conservative Dems and Indies.

Sorry to confront you like this, but it seems like this argument needs a third opinion to break the tie.

"He's right. You keep wandering from the point that was raised. "

He hasn't been right on a single point in this debate so far.

"Instead of addressing his point, you went off on a tangent that had very little to do how Rudy G. could attract conservative Dems and Indies. "

Polls so far show Rudy having little problem attractiung indepemdent voters. Rudy's has show strong support across state lines red and blue, with indies, liberals and even conservatives. The ones having problems attracting independent voters so far, have been th "real conservative" candidates, who's poll numbers have continued to be low..

"Sorry to confront you like this, but it seems like this argument needs a third opinion to break the tie."

I think you are full of hot air, but that's alright. I forgive ya. There 's bound to be some hot air in any heated debate.
